This was great -- I remember hearing that [a:Elizabeth Bear|108173|Elizabeth Bear|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1422586829p2/108173.jpg] was going to be writing a book inspired by James White's Sector General books and I couldn't wait. Now it's here and it absolutely lives up to that description...cool giant hospital in space with patients and staff from dozens of different alien races, but with a 21st century sensibility and with Bear's excellent character development and prose. The first book in this series was good but I like this one even more.
